Happy Birthday Leo and Virgo Natives!! Whew! What a month we have ahead of us! If you think August is going to be a laid-back, fun-loving 'end of Summer' month, you had better fasten your seatbelt. This August is an exception. Expect a lot of fireworks during the month that should prove to be a most interesting time. The big news is the configuration of planets in a cross as they move through Cardinal Signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn). Tension you feel now is because planets are aligning in powerful aspects and rearranging the world. Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde. Uranus goes back into Pisces on August 15th and stays until March 11, 2011. Mercury turns retrograde on August 20 and continues in that direction until September 12. Your patience is tested as issues you thought were behind you arise once again. Use this energy wisely by backing up computer files, finalizing plans and pay attention to any flashes of insight or gut feelings. The Cardinal Grand Cross involving Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, the Moon in Cancer, Venus, Mars and Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn begins to build the tension on August 6-7. Jupiter in Aries will make you eager to learn and experience new things and expand the horizons of your life. Uranus in Aries intensifies this urge. These configurations and the tension it brings may seem daunting, but it actually offers opportunities to pause and plan your next move. The number one rule is to 'Pay Attention". A conversation with a friend, a chance meeting, a passing remark, or even an article read in the Dentist's office can have enormous influence on the course of your life. Old behavior patterns in relationships will be triggered as your need for independence and the fulfillment of your own desires is in conflict with the needs of those around you. Just remember that this energy creates the opportunity for growth. The basic choice will be whether or not to let ourselves get overly emotional or develop a calm, take-charge attitude. You will definitely have the energy to begin new patterns of behavior, organize what comes before you - one step at a time - and begin to formulate a plan that involves getting back in touch with your dreams so you know what you're aiming for. This months' planetary cycles will give you that chance. Years later, you can look back on this time and see the dramatic changes that occurred, what the lesson is, and see how you have benefited from this experience. The New Moon occurs on the 9th at 10:09pm at 17º25' Leo. It will be good to lie low during this New Moon energy as any negotiations will be difficult. The Full Moon is on the 24th at 12:05pm at 1º26' Pisces. This Full Moon will fire up the passionate side of your nature. Happy Birthday Gemini and Cancer Natives!! Get ready to Rock and Roll!! Uranus arrived in Aries on May 27, 2010. And a new cycle of growth and expansion begins on June 6th when Jupiter also enters Aries !!! The path is clear for positive forward motion as two days later, June 8th, Jupiter joins up with Uranus awakening us and creating an entirely new framework for everyone's life. With these two planets functioning in tandem you can expect exciting things to happen, as new doors to opportunity swing open to you. You may receive amazing insights into issues, people or situations. New information, perspectives or inventions may radically change your view of the past, and also alter the way you experience the present. In other words, the old no longer fits into your present environment. This may be a difficult period for some folks if they refuse to accept the new that is coming upon them and feel the pressure to change. Saturn turned direct in Virgo two days before the month began. Saturn remains in Virgo until July 21 when it enters Libra. We will begin to feel a desire to organize our live so that we can make more efficient use of our time. This is an excellent period in which to make a list of those things that are really important to you. Mars in Virgo starting on the 7th brings certain mental clarity to the atmosphere that instructs you how to achieve the powerful results that you want to see happen. Practical steps you take (Virgo) will help achieve your goals. This month's New Moon is in Gemini on June 12th at 6:16am. Each month the New Moon offers us a fresh opportunity to take charge of our lives by using the magic present in the atmosphere to manifest our dreams. Each New Moon is a Power Day and should be seen as a window of opportunity opens that we can use by creating a wish list of what we want to have come true in our lives. . BUT, the big news this month comes on June 26 at the Full Moon (when the Sun is Opposite the Moon) and is a Partial Lunar Eclipse at 4 Capricorn 46' at 7:38am. Wherever Capricorn falls in your chart will be where powerful actions will take place. Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are all triggered by a Lunar Eclipse. If you are feeling unsettled that is your indicator that you are in direct alignment with the eclipse energy. The unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electro-magnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. I look forward to hearing from you Happy Birthday Capricorn and Aquarius Natives!! There is good news in the cosmos this month as February promises to be lighter and more cheerful! Jupiter, the planet of blessings and luck, is in Pisces for much of 2010 bestowing positive vibrations upon you. Mars spends the entire month traveling backward in the sign of Leo. Mars retro in Leo (until March 10, 2010) generates an aggressive, egocentric mood for those who have strong Leo placements. But, it is also a time to pause and figure out what your next move should be, as you may need to shift your priorities. Saturn is linked in a helpful way to Mars at this time and although both plants are retrograde, they provide opportunities for the taking. The opportunities will not fall in your lap, so you have to look for them and make a real effort to pursue them. You will need to move cautiously and deliberately. Enthusiasm and inspiration seem muted during this phase, as anxieties develop around image and ego-desires. Thus, egos may have to take a step back! Because Mars in Leo is usually fearless, independent, generous and honest in any dealings with others, we can expect some dependence, trickery and reluctance to emerge during the retrograde phase, especially if issues from the past, where grand statements were made, come forward to demand a reckoning. People in positions of trust, responsibility or authority will need to watch their backs and we all need to pay closer attention to what we are being told. Listen for secret agendas. Saturn in Libra opens the door to alliances that add balance as Pluto in Capricorn reveals what we didn’t see before. We may be running into walls in our personal lives, but both Saturn and Pluto give us license to tear the walls down and build a new reality. With the aid of wise Jupiter in Pisces our perceptions are broadened by insights that give meaning to what is going on around us. Recognizing what needs to be done and being able to do it, however, are two different things. Retrograde Mars will make us think twice and develop new skills and methods as well as create a willingness to find fresh approaches to old problems. The Aquarian New Moon on February 13 is rich in imagination yet lacking in clarity. The Virgo Full Moon on February 28 brings inspiration down to earth and gives insights to world issues. Happy Birthday, Capricorn and Aquarius Natives! Welcome to January, Welcome to a New Year and Welcome to a New Decade! January is full of planetary action as we begin the year with a Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on New Year’s Eve. This sets off the year with a firecracker energy that will just catapult us into the new decade. The Lunar Eclipse is followed by a Solar Eclipse in Capricorn on the 15th and Jupiter moves out of Aquarius and into Pisces on the 17th. Jupiter brings growth, fame, honors, success, happiness, improvement or material, physical, intellectual, or spiritual benefits. The Solar Eclipse clears the decks for all of this action! Jupiter has rulership over two signs: fiery Sagittarius and watery Pisces. You can accomplish great things during this transit because Jupiter is stronger in Pisces and Sagittarius than in any other sign because of its rulership. Thus, he is happy when he is in Pisces. To gain the most benefit from this transit, work on the area of your life that is ruled by Pisces in your chart. (Have you had your chart done? To do so, I will need your date, place and time of birth.) Take advantage of any and all opportunities you can find. That’s the way to achieve your fullest potential. Mars continues to move retrograde through Leo and gives us a chance to reevaluate what is important for us to initiate. This is an ideal time to reevaluate how you would like to use your own individual life force. What lifestyle is attractive to you at this phase of your life? What projects give you a sense of creative joy? What activities give you pleasure? How can you add more fun to your life? These are excellent questions to ask yourself now. They will help you to better attune yourself to what you really want to do with your creative energy. This is the time to evaluate whether or not you are enjoying your life. Saturn goes retrograde in Libra on the 13th (lasting until May 30). The impetus toward fresh action will subside and we will begin to have more opportunities to go inward to rediscover what we need to do in order to gain a sense of balance in our lives. Mercury continues its’ retrograde through Capricorn and continues until the 15th. This, too, marks the present time as being suited to inward reflection rather than outer initiation. Because Mercury is in the sign of Capricorn, we are now reflecting on our goals and our profession. This is a key time to get in touch with what aims you can pursue that will give you a sense of self-respect. The New Moon each month is a Power Day. This month’s New Moon occurs on the 15th at 2:12am at 25° Capricorn 01. Capricorn encourages us to take charge, reach goals and set priorities. The Full Moon on January 30th at 1:17am at 10° Aquarius and sparks a need for creative self-expression and exposing suppressed emotional needs and desires. Enjoy! Happy Birthday, SAGITTARIUS and CAPRICORN Natives!! Hold on to your hat, December is going to be a rip-roaring month as the sky is full of exciting planetary activity. We will be feeling a strong need to change the way we are handling our interactions – especially with significant partners and family members. The challenge is whether or not we are willing to take charge. If we allow ourselves to be swallowed up by emotional responses, we’ll end up experiencing a feeling of powerlessness and dependency. As Mars in Leo digs its heels in and turns retrograde on December 20 (and stays that way until March 10, 2010), make sure that any promises you make and expenses you commit to are responsible ones – and not based on raw emotions. Since we are all reevaluating how to move forward now (we are all rethinking how best to assert ourselves in order to effect positive change), a better bet to move projects forward is to emphasize cooperation in all of your interactions. Find out what their position is and figure out what kind of plan the two of you could make together to further your plans. Mercury goes retrograde in Capricorn on the 26th (lasting to mid-January), so as the holiday season winds down, you will feel a strong urge to turn inward. This is a great time for reevaluating events of the past year and getting in touch with what goals will be important in 2010. And, Mercury moving in retrograde motion supports our efforts to put these goals into practice. HAPPY NEW YEAR! A Lunar Eclipse occurs on the last day of the year. This is a “Blue Moon’ Lunar Eclipse. The extremely rare blessing of a Blue Moon to welcome the New Year will take place on December 31, 2009 at 2:14pm at 10? Cancer. A Blue Moon is the infrequent second Full Moon in a single month. Usually 2.72 years will elapse between Blue Moons, so the phrase “Once in a Blue Moon”. This powerful eclipse will issue in a six-month period when we will learn to embrace emotionally the responsibility of being more sensitive to the feelings of others – especially family members. Think twice before severing longtime connections too quickly. Take time to think about what is precious to you. This month’s first Full Moon is on December 2 at 10? Gemini 15’. The second Full Moon occurs (as previously discussed) on New Year’s Eve. A month with two Full Moons gives you the energy to start a project and see it through to completion, all within that month. This month’s New Moon occurs on the 16th at 7:02am at 24? Sagittarius 40’. The New Moon offers a fresh change to take charge of our lives by using the magic present in the atmosphere to manifest our dreams. You have worked hard, learned some very important lessons and now, since Saturn is now settling into Libra, you have a lot to look forward to. In fact, as ALL of us have a lot to look forward to this month as we begin to feel some mild rumblings of transformation. Some of us will feel this as stress, and others of us will feel it as reward for lessons learned over the past 2 ½ years. Whatever your situation, you'd be wise to make practical moves and decisions. Don't take any risks or accept new obligations, even if they seem safe. There's an underlying sense of confusion and a feeling of difficulty in seeing exactly how the course ahead is going to unfold. Mars has moved into Leo where it will get a chance to play with some fixed fire. It will be there until June 6, 2010. Mars moves through all twelve constellations in approximately two years, staying in one sign an average of 1 ½ months. What is unusual about this placement is that Mars is going to be in Leo almost eight months. Mars in Leo makes a vibrant impression, with a strong physical presence. So whichever part of your chart it is moving through will be buzzing. Mars is retrograde from Dec 20, 2009 - March 09, 2010, which brings in a whole other dimension. Mars is about energy, fizz and crackle. Mars transiting through Leo it gives us all an opportunity to get out the paints, clay, musical instruments, crayons, materials and anything else that is essential to our being able to connect with our inner artist. Fixed fire creates great warmth and supplies plenty of energy. So when Mars is in Leo it really helps to channel some of this fire into creative endeavours as a way of expressing ourselves and sharing our life force with the world. It is time to co-create with your inner child and learn how to play. How you fare really depends on where you are coming from. Leo is associated with the Higher Self and also with our current appreciation of who we are. If we are in the zone, then activities such as creating art, falling in love, starting a business, being with our children, entertaining and being entertained and above all having fun go smoothly. Happy Birthday LIBRA and SCORPIO Natives!! Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune are retrograde when October begins, but Mercury is now going in direct motion (finally), and Jupiter turns direct on the 12th! Jupiter in direct motion in Aquarius will bring a refreshing feeling of relief. Innovative ideas will begin to emerge and the energy will be such that you can take charge of situations that are in front of you. In other words, life begins to move forward again!! Mars is moving through emotional Cancer and may trigger a tendency to overreact to everything we experience. Stay grounded in the 'here and now' and take one step at a time. One positive outcome from all of this is that you will be able to see exactly what you are doing that keeps you stuck. Once that is revealed, you will be able to grasp the positive steps that will be necessary to get you back in charge of your life and navigate your course without being at the mercy of others. Mars enters Leo on the 16th and stays until June 7, 2010. This is a highly romantic and creative period as you explore new ways to express yourself. You may find a new love or revive an existing affair. All relationships will have great spiritual meaning as you free yourself from those that deplete you and bring on those that energize and enlighten you. Saturn enters Libra on the 29th and remains there for two-and-a-half years, except for a brief period from April to July of 2010 when it moves back into Virgo again. WHEW! All I can say is: WHEW! This month marks the beginning of Saturn's departure from Virgo when it first entered that constellation in September 2007. Saturn in Virgo has been tough for everyone. Everything that was not in prime condition has been revealed to us as broken and in need of repair. Virgo is where we 'clean up our mess', and this will be our final opportunity for a while to really handle the details of our lives in a way that places us in the strongest possible position to move forward and have positive experiences. A New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun are in the same sign at the same degree - usually once a month. This months' New Moon occurs in the sign of Libra on October 18th at 12:33am. This Month's Full Moon - when the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite each other - occurs on October 4th when the Moon is moving through the constellation of Aries opposite the Sun moving through Libra. The Full Moon will occur at exactly 2:10am at 11ºAries 10' with the Sun (Earth) at 11°Libra 10'. Enjoy the beauty of this Full Moon - it's all about love. Happy Birthday VIRGO and LIBRA Natives!! This month gets off to a pleasant start as the Full Moon on the 4th gives you a chance to relax and prepare for busier days ahead. Patience is a must now as Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde. Mercury turns retrograde on the 6th as it is moving through Libra and continues in that direction until September 29th. If progress seems slow, keep in mind that retrograde periods give you the time to revise work and rethink priorities. And, in typical Mercury Retrograde fashion, we can expect delays, misunderstandings, and foul-ups in meeting with friends, getting messages transmitted and just general frustrations in communicating. This is a great time to look inward and reevaluate all the shifts that have occurred throughout the year. Saturn and Uranus will be exactly opposite for the third time on September 15th. Saturn will be at 24°38’ Virgo and Uranus will be at 24°38’ Pisces. You will be experiencing a sense of start/stop, start/stop. On the one hand, you’ll feel an agitated impetus to forge ahead and manifest your dreams (Uranus). On the other, there will be a feeling that others oppose us with their practical concerns and considerations (Saturn). One astrologer friend defined this energy as ‘a return to reality with a vengeance’. The first time these planets were opposing each other was Nov. 4 (Election Day); the next was Feb. 6 2009. We have another opposition on Sept 15 and then there will be two more in 2010. Reality is hitting us in all parts of our life. The second half of the month will find us in a serious mood. Your level of energy will not be at its highest. This is a good time to get extra sleep if you feel tired. This is a time for a new chapter to begin and will especially apply to the work we do and the way we organize the details of our personal lives. Venus in Leo brings us a happy time filled with excitement of change, idealism and a desire to have more fun. This month’s Full Moon occurs on the 4th at 11:04am at 12°15’ Pisces. This is a time to focus on what you can do to enhance your image. Try taking a new approach to an old issue. This month’s New Moon occurs in Virgo on the 18th at 1:44pm. A New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun are in the same sign at the same degree. This is a time for new beginnings. The New Moon in Virgo is a time to relax with your partner and work on strengthening all close ties! You may have to give more than you get, but the end result will be worth it. Happy Birthday LEO and VIRGO Natives!! There will be a general mood of happiness this month though your patience is being tested as progress is slow. The month begins on a bit of an explosive note as Venus and Pluto make sure relationships are not boring. The Full Moon on the 6th completes a series of Eclipses started at the Full and New Moons last month. You are leaving behind people and things from your past that you found stifling. As you go through the month and your patience is tested, you are learning that you can have a different future by only changing yourself. This is BIG! :-) All Eclipses are ‘course correctors’, and your eyes are now opened to seeing things that you didn’t see before. This Eclipse affects us for the next six months on a deeply personal level. You will be learning how to integrate a more loving, humanitarian approach (all Aquarian qualities) in our dealings with others. You will also begin to embrace new strategies for relating to our friends. The result will be stronger and more supportive friendships. :-) The reason for the slow progress is because there are four planets - Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto traveling in apparent ‘backward’ (retrograde) direction. You may discover delays, setbacks and confusion in the areas of your life where these planets are moving in your chart. You may feel as though Mercury is going retrograde (something we are familiar with). But, we can’t blame everything on poor ‘lil Mercury. Fortunately, retrograde movements of planets DO have a bright side: they give you opportunities to review plans or rethink issues, or to complete any unfinished projects. And, for many of you, it is time to rethink the next phase of your life. Your beliefs and religious philosophies are questioned and you find yourself researching and developing your own ideas. Mercury squares Mars through much of this month (Aug 13th to Sept 6) and mental tension will be high. Internal conflict comes from your efforts to meet your needs for personal security and safety and, at the same time, maintain harmony with others. But, everyone’s energy is fluctuating between excitement and retiring, growth and expansion in our awareness or playing it safe with what we already know. Most of us will seem to be under the influence of a brain fog. Many details can be handled efficiently if we just do one thing at a time. Multi-tasking is likely to be paralyzing. Solution: slow down and smell the roses! :-) A piece of really happy news is that in spite of all the twists and turns this month, there is a nice aspect between Mercury and Venus which will bring a sense of enjoyment and harmony. This feeling results from being able to communicate (Mercury) to others in ways that makes us feel good about ourselves (Venus). Change in your personal lives sets the tone for the end of the month and into September. With Mercury, Venus and Mars all switching signs, you have many things in your lives reaching a crucial turning point. The net result of the planetary shifts is that you feel freer. :-) This month’s Full Moon on the 5th was a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius. The New Moon each month is a Power Day. It is a time to take charge of what you want to manifest in your life. This month’s New Moon occurs on the 20th at 5:02am as the Earth and Moon are at 27 32’ of Leo. Happy Birthday GEMINI and CANCER Natives!! This is a good month to start enterprises and relationships that you want to last a long time. Mercury is now moving direct in Taurus and is moving very slow making you feel ver pensive and somewhat sluggish. Venus is also in Taurus and Mars is in Taurus until July 12th. Taurus is associated with stability, consistency and determination. Planets in Taurus take on the patience and reliability associated with that sign. If you use this energy in positive ways, you can bring more stability to your life. Patience and a kind approach can help mend or cement relationships. You can get amazing results if you take a calm Taurean approach to people, situations, problems and events. On June 1st a rare conjunction is in effect between Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. All three are in the same constellation at the same degree. This triple conjunction aspect will be influential all month and will amplify and stimulate idealism. You may be more dreamy, creative, compassionate, spiritual or psychic. You may even feel a little 'foggy-minded'. ;-) The first week of June is an ideal time for socializing, but by the Full Moon on the 7th you will need a break. Any kind of love interest may be stirred up, whether it involves a romantic encounter, affection for a child, or a personal creative project - any area that stirs your heartstrings. You may feel drawn to groups, charitable work or speculative ventures. You will be wise to make only practical moves, yet be open and flexible to the influx of new and happy pathways that lie ahead. The Summer Solstice is on the 21st as the Sun enters Cancer at 1:46am. This day contains the largest number of daylight hours of the year. We call it the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Jupiter retrogrades in Aquarius on June 15th until mid-October. The combined energy of Jupiter and the Summer Solstice will bring you good energy to resolve any of your darkest fears and clean out whatever is keeping you from attaining your life goals. Other people may seem too busy seeing to their own needs to be of help. You can benefit from this period if you view it as an opportunity to enrich your own internal life and not look to others for answers. Reevaluating your life goals and finding your own answers will give your personal dreams a whole new meaning. The New Moon occurs on the 22nd at 2:36pm at 1°30' Cancer. A New Moon begins a whole new cycle for you and will affect the area of your life where this New Moon energy lands in your personal chart. The Full Moon occurs on the 7th at 2:12pm when the Earth is at at 17°Gemini 07'and the Moon is at 17°Sagittarius 07. Remember, what begins at a New Moon comes to fulfillment at a Full Moon! Enjoy! :-) Happy Birthday TAURUS and GEMINI Natives!! :-) May was full of life, but what exactly are you achieving from all this activity? There's a chance you'll be getting little in return for all your gallant efforts. This can be frustrating but a bright idea at the end of the month will help you find a solution to this. You're likely to feel all hot and bothered this May , but try not to let the sun go your head. Just remember that keeping call means keeping calm. The best advice for you is avoid midday burn out and instead make the most of warm balmy nights which is much more your style. Evenings are your time so get plenty of siestas in order to make the most of those midnight fiestas. The desire to let go of current concerns and head for greener pastures is stoked by the Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. The big news this month is that Mercury turns retrograde on May 6th at 1° Gemini and goes back to 22° Taurus when it Stations Direct on May 30th. When Mercury goes retrograde you can expect a higher frequency of misunderstandings as ‘retrograde’ implies inward and Mercury rules the mind. What is interesting here is that Mercury turns retrograde on a degree emphasizing spiritual development. You will probably find yourself withdrawing from the world as you reflect on all the thoughts that will be spinning in your head. You will be cutting through old habit patterns as you look closely at the flow of your mental processes. (Sounds rather deep, doesn’t it!) You will now have the opportunity to adjust your thoughts, attitudes and decisions so as to have a better understanding of your life. You will also want to make lists - lists of ‘things to do’. You’ll almost certainly forget them if you don’t write them down. Remember to stay calm and check things off on your list as you get them done. This will help yourself to emphasize what you DO accomplish instead of what you don’t. :-) Other planetary activity includes Saturn continuing its’ retrograde motion in Virgo and Pluto retrograding in Capricorn. At the same time Jupiter and Neptuneare in Aquarius moving toward a conjunction (two or more planets that share the same degree in the same sign) on May 27th. This conjunction reminds you of your ideals. If you are happy with your lot in life, you will probably enjoy this period, but if you life is not going well, you may long for something better. Whatever happens, stay grounded in reality (Saturn) and make practical choices. The Full Moon occurs on the 8th at 11:02pm at 18 Scorpio 41 and can bring up deep feelings from the past. Not only can there be emotional explosions, but there can be all sorts of electrical equipment breakdowns. The New Moon occurs on the 24th at 3 Gemini 28 at 7:12am. This is an extraordinary New Moon as Jupiter adds its’ energies of enterprise and expansion, new possibilities and perspectives. Happy Birthday ARIES and TAURUS Natives!! :-) Welcome to APRIL! April 9th hosts a Full Moon that is intertwined with the positive energies created by Jupiter and the Sun. This is a time when two distinct energies are operating simultaneously. There is the urge to indulge in deep reflection, and there is a simulus for taking outer action in the world. This is also the perfect time to make a fresh start. From April 4th through the 5th, Mercury works with Jupiter to help you communicate and negotiate with others. Mercury is helping you to communicate your thoughts, to persuade, sell, inspire, entertain, and connect with people in your local community. Jupiter is helping you to socialize, network, befriend others, and create team spirit. This is a smart and enthusiastic energy that can help you to socialize and to create lucrative business deals. From April 7th through the 8th, Mercury moves over to begin joining forces with Neptune. Once again, your "me" sector and your "negotiations" sector are positively connected. Neptune promotes more compassion, spiritual and mental health, and working with bureaucracies. Social events could bring about inner peace and a sense of compassionate connectivity. Business negotiations with large corporations, government agencies and other bureaucracies could work out quite nicely at this time. There is also a cha nce for some romance and flirtation too. It is conjunct Saturn (at the same degree) and opposing Uranus we can expect sudden breakdowns in systems that we have built to make us feel more secure. Key employees may leave the company or computers may need repair. Ths opposition will also bring clashes with authority figures. You may feel like authority figures are holding you back or frustrating you. Big changes are likely to be in the offing, and not everyone will approve. The New Moon at 6°08 Aries 35' on the 26th will occur at 11:07am. This New Moon is conjunct a retrograde Venus and Mercury. The Day of the New Moon is a Power Day. It is a day of concentrated energies and new beginnings. The power of attraction is highlighted but with Mercury in Aries we may find people being overly pushy. Reality is coming home to roost. The Full Moon is on the 9th at 2:39am at 20°60 Leo. This Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse that indicates meaningful changes for all of us. This Full Moon is a blend of Leo (moon)/Aquarius(sun) energy and gives us the need to understand our social roles better. The fact that this Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse indicates a six-month period when you will be learning lessons on an emotional level. Primarily, you will begin to encounter situations that trigger the importance of developing a healthy ego. You are likely to reexamine the importance of personal love in your life if that is an area that needs more - or less - attention. The goal is to become emotionally balanced. The Eclipse at 6°30’Aquarius is conjunct Jupiter at 4°52’ Aquarius and brings up issues that were raised last Summer such as security and expansion of government and increased spending. Any agreements made near the date of this eclipse are unlikely to last. Do not make major decisions the week before the eclipse as you will discover information in the coming week that will aid you in making better ones. The Jupiter aspect to this eclipse will inflate expectations and blow matters out of proportion, especially in the intellectual area. Try to keep centered and maintain a balanced perspective. If you don’t like the direction your life is taking, you can use Jupiter’s energy to improve things. Mercury turns Retrograde on January 11th at 7° Aquarius. This ushers in a three week period where we will reevaluate our recent past actions. We will strive to make sure that our present behavior really honors our expressed values. Patience is a must, for Saturn is also retrograde and delays and setbacks can occur. As Mercury retrogrades through Capricorn on the 21st a feeling of realism enters the atmosphere. You will feel an urge to create more practical results that you can count on to take care of you in the future.
